Campground
First, we checked out of the Silverline Resort RV Park & Campground. This is very nice park.

Heading out
We had no pictures of Winthrop yesterday. The town deserves recognition before we move on, however.

This "faux" Old West town has one main street and intersection. The Emporium sits at the 4-way stop in town-center. Every business surrounding the town has preserved the Old West look.

We had dinner on the balcony here last night
The only gas station downtown wasn't designed for RVs
The Drive
Our drive toward the Pacific coast included National Geographic's Stevens Pass Greenway. The scenic route followed a trail blazed by the Great Northern Railway. It went from Wenatchee to Everett on US-2. The scenic drive (and the 138 miles of driving to get there) offered many beautiful sights. Maybe we're tired of mountain views or have seen too many extraordinary sights, but today's travel experience was just ... OK.
Here are the highlights.
- Cinnamon rolls (from Sadie's Bakery in Winthrop) and coffee at a picnic table in the little town of Methow
- Lake Chelan views and vacation homes along US-97
- Stevens Pass ascent and descent
We arrived at Maple Grove RV Resort in Everett around 5pm. The Woodall ratings and advertising describe this place as "Seattle's Premier RV Resort". Don't believe what you read! We see it as an RV parking lot with nice landscaping and exceptional restrooms.

I notice a significant number of posts referring to "cinnamon rolls" and other delights. My mouth keeps watering!
ReplyDeleteGood catch, Paul. We use the term "cinnamon rolls" for effect. Melba Toast isn't appealing to very many people.
