Day 27 - (08/14) Hoodsport, WA ... Day 2

This was another beautiful day on the peninsula. We had clear skies, light breezes and temperature in the mid-80s.

What a way to wake up!

We decided to scout the area along US-101 between our campground and Port Angeles today. There are many state and national forest campgrounds on the route. We’ll sample some in the next few days and report later.

Trivia

Have you noticed strange or funny town names when you travel into a new area? We saw these today (I triple-checked the spelling, honest) … Puyallup, Potlatch, Lilliwaup and Duckabush. We have no clue to their source.

Carol’s favorite phrases of the day … Tacoma Dome and Juan De Fuca. Her sing-song delivery of each was cute the first 575 times, but we’re past that now.
